GIRL FEST 2019, HERE WE COME.
GIRL FEST 2019, HERE WE COME.

Girl Fest announced its lineup for 2019 yesterday, and as usual, the bill is solidly diverse. There's Portland hip-hop artist KayelaJ, R&B songstress Scooty, dream pop three-piece Cry Babe, "tryhard turntablist" Whateveryn, and fuzz rock band Dirty Princess. The concert will go down on Thursday, January 10 at Holocene.

Founded in 2014, Girl Fest is the annual all-ages music festival that showcases the musical talents of girls and women in the northwest region. Past performers include The Last Artful, Dodgr, Blossom, Coco Columbia, Haley Heynderickx, Gifted Gab and Paris Alexa. The showcase used to be at Lola's Room (inside Crystal Ballroom), but last year it was moved to Holocene. While the venue's all-ages setup isn't my favorite, Girl Fest's "something for everybody" lineups never disappoint, and almost always put me on to new artists. Tickets are on sale now, by the way.
